Leadership ISD and Teach For America Dallas-Fort Worth invite you to a panel event to hear from LGBTQ educators, leaders and allies as they explore the current realities of students growing up with LGBTQ identities or with LGBTQ parents. Our panelists will talk about the history of discrimination of LGBTQ students and educators in DFW and how this experience intersects with the history of racism in public policy. We will explore how students and families interact with major systems such as housing, healthcare, and criminal justice, and nutrition. Finally, participants will learn where to find organizations who are doing work to support LGBTQ kids and families that they can turn to.
